The Turkish jewelry sector’s annual exports total $2 billion, making it the second largest in the world. This figure consists of $1 billion from direct exports and $1 billion from ‘suitcase trade’ and tourism. Atasay had the Turkey’s highest jewelry sector exports in 2002, 2003 and 2004. Exporting 89% of its production, it has surpassed $150 million in annual exports. This gives the company a 15% share of Turkish jewelry exports. Through its sales, Atasay has brought a Turkish brand to five million women in 62 countries and also made an important contribution to Turkey’s export income.
Atasay began emphasizing foreign markets in 2008. Accordingly, it has opened its first store abroad in the Dubai Mall, probably the world’s largest shopping center.
Every year, Atasay participates in nine international fairs and it maintains offices in the United States, Russia, Italy, Dubai, China and Mexico. Through these fairs and offices, it represents the Turkish Jewelry sector in many places worldwide. Rapidly reaching its goal of achieving worldwide renown, Atasay advertises and conducts promotional activities abroad. One of the most important events was Atasay’s February 2005 The Living Tradition of Anatolian Jewelry Collection Show at the New York Metropolitan Museum, where Anatolia’s 5000-year-old jewelry heritage was presented. Atasay will continue to make Turkey’s name shine around the world.
